Call Your Representative Today!
The federal government will not be shutting down for at least the next two weeks.
In that time, the fate of the Rohrabacher–Blumenauer protections will be decided by negotiators in a Congressional conference committee, where members get together to reconcile the two competing versions of the budget.
The Senate version of the budget upholds the Rohrabacher–Blumenauer (ROAR-ah-Bock-er, Bloom-en-Our) amendment that prevents the Department of Justice from arresting and prosecuting medical marijuana patients and providers in legal states.
The House version of the budget does not include the amendment.
They’ll be voting behind closed doors!
Now is the time to call your Representative and tell them that you support the Rohrabacher–Blumenauer protections for the upcoming budget! Here’s a script you can follow …
“I would like to inform my Representative that I fully support the inclusion of the Rohrabacher–Blumenauer (ROAR-ah-Bock-er, Bloom-en-Our) amendment that prevents the Department of Justice from arresting and prosecuting medical marijuana patients and providers in legal states. The citizens of those states voted in favor of a law that they support, and should not be punished for standing by their opinion. That’s the foundation of what this country was based upon.”
